About

Berlin-based photographer & creative technologist

Hi, I'm Jens

I'm a freelance software developer by day and a street photographer whenever I can. Berlin is my canvas—a city that never stops moving, where every corner tells a story and every moment holds the potential for something unexpected.

My background in technology shapes how I see the world. Writing code taught me to recognize patterns, to find beauty in structure, and to appreciate the decisive moment when everything aligns. Photography is where I apply that same attention to detail, but instead of solving problems with logic, I'm capturing emotions with light.

Street photography appeals to me because it's honest and unscripted. There's no posing, no direction—just life as it unfolds. I'm drawn to the quiet moments between the chaos, the subtle interactions that reveal something human and universal.

When I'm not behind the camera or writing code, you'll find me exploring Berlin's neighborhoods, always looking for that next frame that tells a story worth sharing.

Approach

I believe the best photographs are the ones you don't plan. They happen when you're present, patient, and ready to capture the moment as it reveals itself. My work is about observation—finding the extraordinary in the ordinary and showing Berlin not as a postcard, but as a living, breathing place full of real people and real stories.

Tools

I shoot with a Fujifilm X-series camera—compact, discreet, and perfect for street photography. The less gear between me and the moment, the better.
